家の裏庭の林檎の木をきりました。トランスペアレントとかって種類で、採れたてはおいしいのですが 果肉が柔らかで好みではありませんでした。それに一寸病気でした。直径13センチです。 林檎も変形が早くて旋盤で切っている間にも形が変わります。胡桃もでしたが、林檎の樹液は 道具を桜材みたいに錆びさせないようです。

We cut our backyard apple tree down. It was soft fruit type and we weren't keen about eating apples. The tree was also sick. Apple wood also warps very quickly and I could see bowls are warped before I finish turning. Cherry wood were very corrosive and made the lathe rusty quickly, however apple and walnut wood seem to be not hard on lathe. 130mm diameter and finished with olive oil.

街路樹の胡桃材から出直系は29cmです。オリーブ油で仕上げてあります。乾燥するに連れての   変形は今まで試した 木材の比ではありません。


From regular walnut wood found on neighbour's　boulevard. It warps quickly much more than other woods I had tried. 220mm diamter and finished with olive oil.

久し振りにアップデートします。本を沢山日本から持ち帰ったり。録画されてたドラマなんかを見てたらもう四月です。 日本から戻ったのは2月の28日です。 街路樹の桜材からで直径22センチです。

I came back from Japan on Feb.28th. Since I brought back many books and recorded many dramas on TV here, I've been spending the most of time on those. The bowl is made from the street cherry tree. 220mm diameter.
